Complimentary Colors…they always work! I was recently asked by a client why I chose BLUE for their tile backsplash. I am not a big design rule person, but the project we are working on for them has some great terra cottas and warm orange earth tones…so I instinctively explained how BLUE is a compliment to those tones. Blue and Orange are opposite from each other on the color wheel, I detailed, and therefore complimentary colors. I think I take for granted those instincts as a designer, but when reminded, I’m grateful for the training as well as instinct in the design field. Until we photograph that upcoming project, here’s a bit of inspiration in the meantime! 💙+🧡 #haciendachiccolortheory

Epiphany: Beauty is worth sharing! Getting vulnerable here today as I clearly now see that I let my creative self be stifled by a year and a half of “noise”. The gifts GOD gives us for seeing His beauty in a unique way are meant to be shared and to glorify Him. So that is my renewed mission in design and I will rely on the Holy Spirt to protect me from the noise of this world. Ultimately, this life is just a journey to eternal paradise with Him. How I steward that journey with this purpose in mind is where the joy of the Kingdom on this side of heaven is found. I’ve decided to revisit what God birthed in me in early 2020… #haciendachiccolortheory and share my creative heart and soul again. So, I’m gearing up for BLUE 💙this week for a continuation of my #haciendachiccolortheory series. I gotta say, I’ve haven’t seen much better than Antonio Gaudí when it comes to mastering color! Any shade of blue and any use of tile pretty much win me over no matter what the application, but when it’s one of his masterpieces, I’m usually breathless. Take me back to Barcelona!!!
